THE ART & SCIENCE OF MEDITATION – A 6-WEEK COURSE (This is an excellent course for those new to meditation)

TIME: 7:30 - 9:00pm on Mondays for 6 consecutive weeks

Learn to meditate or enhance your current meditation practice. You will have 6 weeks of personal instruction as you develop your own daily practice. Your PEACE will no longer be determined by outer circumstances. Discover ever more deeply that the greatest JOY is within YOU. The source of peace, joy, wisdom, and intuition will be revealed through direct experience.

What to expect:

You will learn a practical and powerful method of meditation brought to the West by Paramhansa Yogananda.

Even short meditations practiced with regularity effect great change in how our brain functions. Meditation stimulates the prefrontal lobes and the creation of neural pathways improving concentration, focus, relaxation, and joy. As you commit to a daily practice even for a few minutes, you will find yourself wanting more, and your level of peace and enjoyment in daily activities will rise.

Your "emotional fuses" get longer and you will feel anger or depression less often and with less intensity. As your practice of meditation deepens, the results of your efforts become more powerful. Calmness and joy that radiate from within are the attributes of those who meditate deeply.

True meditation is a way to commune with the divine within. All are welcome, with any religious or spiritual beliefs as well as having no religious or spiritual affiliation. May this course help you to personally experience more calmness, joy and awareness and then be able to expand that feeling to all with whom you are in contact.

BEGINNER IYENGAR YOGA SERIES

The Yoga Hut is offering a 6-week Iyengar Beginner Yoga Series starting on SATURDAY, JANUARY 14, at 8:30am – 9:45am. The series will continue for 6 consecutive Saturday mornings. The cost of the series is $85.00. Cheree Winston, Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher, will teach the class.

The Beginner Iyengar Yoga Series is designed specifically for the student new to yoga or new to the Iyengar Method of Yoga. These classes introduce poses and the basic principles of alignment. Students of all abilities can perform the beginner poses with the use props specific to Iyengar Yoga such as blocks, belts and blankets. These poses will help you develop strength, flexibility, balance and stamina while cultivating discipline, courage and sensitivity in mind, body and spirit.
