ANANDA YOGA CLASSES CANCELLED UNTIL AUGUST 17TH (for more information, see Ananda Yoga classes below)

The Yoga Hut is featured as one of 15 places to refresh in DFW by NBCDFW.com. Here's what they had to say:

"You don't hear clinking weight machines or radio hip-hop when you enter the Rudra Center for Enlightened Awareness that houses the Yoga Hut studio. The only sound is the soft splashing of a fountain in the Asian-inspired garden. Every corner of the place opens itself up to peace -- skylight windows in the studio make you forget it even has a ceiling. Art by Silver Ra, the complex's owner and leader of the Rudra meditation group that meets on site, encourages reflection while yoga students hold their poses. Multiple levels of Vinyasa and Iyengar are taught as well as classes for kids. YogaHut director Lori Blunk aims to help students improve their practice from the inside out."

YOGA PHILOSOPHY (CANCELLED UNTIL SEPTEMBER)
EVERY SUNDAY 6PM
New Yoga Philosophy Discussion Group meets weekly on Sunday evenings at 6:00 PM prior to the 6:30 PM asana class. We will discuss yoga philosophy in the context of the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali and how it is relevent in everyday life. Each session is free and anybody interested in deepening their understanding of yoga through study is welcome.

MEDITATION GROUP – ALL ARE WELCOME
**MEDITATION GROUP WILL NOT MEET AGAIN UNTIL THE WEEK OF AUGUST 17TH** (Paula is back in northern California at Ananda Village for advanced teacher training until August 17th so her Ananda classes and meditation group will resume at that time)

Are you seeking more inner peace? Would you like to reduce stress and improve your health and well-being?

Would you like to be more deeply grounded in the heart-centered wisdom of your spirit and be able to share that light with others?

The purpose of this group is to help you experience the joy of meditation in a relaxed and supportive setting with sincere like-minded souls interested in meditating, learning, sharing, and connecting.

A new meditation group will meet on the 2nd and 4th Friday evening of each month. The first meeting will be June 11th from 6-7pm. Upon completion of the “Art & Science of Meditation” series last month, many of the students requested that we continue to offer a regular on-going group meditation time as support and encouragement for their meditation practice. This group is open to the community and will be offered on a donation basis only (suggested donation $10). No prior meditation experience is needed to attend. It is best to meditate on an empty stomach. We will provide blankets, bolsters, and folding chairs, but feel free to bring your own meditation props.

In addition to a guided meditation, each meeting is unique with a different theme and will usually include:

* energization and/or gentle yoga postures similar to those taught in our Ananda yoga classes
* pranayama (breath/energy work)
* discussion and/or spiritual reading
* an affirmation

The meetings will be guided by Paula Sibilsky, certified Ananda Meditation and Yoga Teacher.

THE ART & SCIENCE OF MEDITATION
A 6-WEEK COURSE **NEXT SESSION IN FALL 2010
Learn to meditate or enhance your current meditations. You will have 6 weeks of personal instructions as you develop your own daily practice. Your PEACE will no longer be determined by outer circumstances. Discover even more deeply that the greatest JOY is within YOU. The source of peace, joy, wisdom, and intuition will be revealed through direct experience.

NEW CLASS ADDED TO THE SCHEDULE ON TUESDAY AND THURSDAY EVENINGS AT 6:00PM -- BEGINNING TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 2, 2010
**THIS CLASS IS CANCELLED UNTIL AUGUST 17TH** (Paula is back in northern California at Ananda Village for advanced teacher training so this class will resume on August 17th)

ANANDA YOGA
Ananda (sanskrit word meaning Joy or Bliss) Yoga (union) is a classical style of yoga which seeks to raise one's level of consciousness while harmonizing the body, mind and spirit. It uses a variety of yogic techniques to achieve this. This is a powerful, yet gentle, practice suitable for everyone---all ages, all body types, all fitness levels. Ananda Yoga is gentle for beginners, becoming more challenging with experience.

Some of what you can expect in an Ananda Yoga class:

*Pranayama - breath (or energy) control techniques

*Energization exercises - special energy control techniques developed by Master Yogi, Paramahansa Yogananda (author of famed "Autobiography of a Yogi"), to help the practitioner increase, focus, and control the life force (energy). These techniques are unique to Ananda Yoga.

*Yoga postures (asanas) - demonstrated traditional yoga postures - each paired with its own affirmation designed to reinforce the posture's natural effect on one's state of consciousness. The use of these affirmations in conjunction with postures is also unique to Ananda Yoga.

*Guided visualization

*Guided brief meditation

We invite you to experience Ananda Yoga.
